SEO (SEARCH ENGINE OPTIMIZATION)

SEO is a term that has been thrown around a lot. So...

What is it?

SEO (Search Engine Optimization) is the optimization of your website for search engines.

What's Unique About Anderson's Approach?

We have a holistic perspective of SEO, as we don't see it as a one-solution-serves-all type deal. Instead, it requires a vast knowledge of so many things! We take as much into account as we possibly can. We don't just look at your content, but also your design. Beyond that, the back end, your citations, and so on.

This perspective informs our methodical approach. We consider the search engine (like Google) and what they're looking for yes, but we also consider the end-user. Too many SEO companies prioritize one over the other (usually the search engine), whereas we have a healthy balance of both.

Simply put, we understand that we have to please the Google gods, yes, but we also know that your customer's experience is key! Above that, the question we ask is, are you (our client) proud of your online presence?

What is a search engine?

A search engine is a browser that users utilize to perform searches. Examples: Google, Bing, DuckDuckGo.

Why does a website need to be optimized?

Great question. Search engines like Google want to see the quality of your website. It's in their best interest to give the user the exact results they're looking for.

Have you ever noticed that when you're searching for something via Google, you can usually find what you're looking for within the first 1-3 results? This is usually because of two reasons:

  1. Google has a fantastic algorithm that anticipates what the user really wants.

  2. Those websites Google made appear in the first few results have been optimized really well.

How do we optimize your website?

There are lots of ways to optimize your website: On-Page Optimization and Off-Page Optimization.

On-Page Optimization

Simply put, On-Page Optimization is performing the task of optimizing the design, content, and back end of your website so search engines (and users) know what to expect from your website.

  1. Your website design. Is it user-friendly? Does it look good? Is there a substantial amount of content that users will find helpful? Is there a clear Call-To-Action (CTA), such as a "Contact Us" or "Shop Now" button?

  2. Back-End Optimization. Are your H1 tags correct (site titles)? Do you have a site map? Are there keywords embedded? Is your Google Analytics set up? Are you verified through Google? Do you have an SSL Certificate? Are your images geotagged? The list goes on.

  3. Blog Writing. Today, Google (and users) want to see that you're the authority in your industry. Regularly writing blog posts, packed full of helpful and comprehensive information gives your users an understanding of just how much you know. This bolsters trust in their eyes (and Google's). Technologically speaking, the content on your blog (copy--text) is what gives Google's bots information to crawl, so when a user Google Searches "armadillo taxidermy near me", and you just so happen to have a whole blog devoted to the subject, you are more likely to rank higher in Google's search results.

Off-Page Optimization

Simply put, Off-Page Optimization is performing tasks that drive traffic and notoriety to your site. A few examples:

  1. Authority Links. We get other websites to talk about your website. This shows Google your website is well-known and trusted.

  2. Social Fortress. We have thousands of social accounts that chat about your website.

  3. Citation Management. We list your business info on tons of citation sites, like Manta, Google Business, Yelp, NextDoor, Bing Places, etc.

  4. Social Media Management. Usually, the purpose of a social media account is to drive traffic to your website. Social Media Management is typically its own service, however, it is so important for SEO as a whole. Having a good online presence with followers, plenty of people engaging with your content, and most importantly (from an SEO perspective), clicking on your website link, is a phenomenal boost in your ranking on search engines like Google.
